First Friday Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life, Honoring Warren “Nearly Normal” Kress

In keeping with Nearly’s wishes, we’ll be having a “Celebration of Life”, First Friday style, on June 5, 2015 at 554 Davis St., Ypsilanti, 8:00 pm ’til late (he was hoping to at least go until 2:00am :-)

First Friday is a music/social monthly gathering that has been going on for the last 18 years where everyone sings and plays the songs together. We emphasize songs that people know, (hopefully) take the time to get everyone on the same page, and then all play together. You can bring instruments and sheet music. We have books/electronic devices with the music, and can project the words and music too. There will be electric and acoustic areas.

And, it’s not just for musicians. All people- and music-lovers are welcome. In fact, there are often as many “spectators” as there are musicians! Regardless, everyone has a great time.

Nearly really dug First Fridays. Come and celebrate with us.

While some food and beverages will be provided (Warren’s favorite rum drink for those who arrive early!), you may want to BYOB and favorite munchies.
